Summer 2017 PEN America Membership Internship

PEN America seeks membership interns to work closely with the Senior Membership Manager. Interns will gain an overview of the literary and publishing communities as well as insight into contemporary literature across multiple genres. They will gain exposure to the wide range of PEN’s work, and receive hands-on experience in program research and development, marketing, event management and logistics. Additionally, interns are invited to attend and assist at many PEN events.

PEN America stands at the intersection of literature and human rights to protect free expression in the United States and worldwide. We champion the freedom to write, recognizing the power of the word to transform the world. Our mission is to unite writers and their allies to celebrate creative expression and defend the liberties that make it possible.
