This January, PEN America is collecting letters of solidarity, which will be delivered to imprisoned writers in different regions of the world. This long-standing tradition has brought rays of hope to writers, many of whom keep and share the notes they receive even after they have been released from prison.

This year, we invite you to write a letter to Saudi writer-activist Loujain Al-Hathloul; Uyghur economist and writer Ilham Tohti, imprisoned incommunicado in China; Ugandan academic and writer Dr. Stella Nyanzi; or Egyptian poet, activist, and singer Galal El-Behairy.

Use the form below to share your messages of hope and solidarity with any of these imprisoned writers and let them know that people around the world continue to fight for their freedom.
