With increasing threats to freedom of expression for artists, writers, and journalists around the world, filmmakers Nanfu Wang (director of One Child Nation) and Oleg Sentsov (director of Gamer and winner of the 2017 PEN/Barbey Freedom to Write Award), and surgeon-turned-comedian Bassem Youssef have found themselves exiled from their home countries, censored, or imprisoned for their work. Suzanne Nossel, CEO of PEN America, moderates a conversation with Wang, Sentsov, and Youssef about how their experiences have informed their art and how their art has informed their experiences.
