Maayan Dauber is the Chief Development Officer at PEN America. She has worked in philanthropy for nearly a decade, having previously served as Director of Major Gifts at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), one of the nation’s most influential performing arts institutions. Her career has been defined by a deep commitment to connecting visionary supporters with bold, boundary-pushing art and advocacy.
Before entering the nonprofit sector, Maayan pursued an academic path shaped by a lifelong love of literature. She holds a BA in English from the University of Pennsylvania, an MPhil in Criticism and Culture from Cambridge University, and a PhD in English from Princeton University, where she focused on British and American modernism.
