Known for his dissident writing in his songs and online, rapper Ramón Eusebio López Díaz livestreamed his arrest on June 18, 2021, as police broke into his house following his peaceful participation in the 11J protests. He was released from custody a few days later, but detained again on July 22. Held incommunicado for more than two weeks, he was released on August 1, 2021. In May 2022, he arrived in the United States after facing repeated arrests, surveillance, and censorship for his outspoken music.
