Mohammad Bamm, whose writing focuses on workers’ rights, was detained on December 31, 2017 and held incommunicado, unable to access lawyers or his family. His charges include “causing harm to public order and security, participating in te leadership of illegal demonstrations and inciting people to take part in them, and insulting the Supreme Leader.” Bamm was released on March 19, 2018, and in 2019, he left Iran for a residency program in France, where he continues to write and work on advocating for Iranian political prisoners and speaking out against the Iranian regime.
