The lead singer of Russian rock group Nogu Svelo, Maxim Pokrovsky is known for releasing politically critical songs condemning the war on Ukraine. One song led to a police complaint and investigation against him by a statute of the Russian penal code against “discrediting the Russian army.” He lives in exile in the United States. Russia officially designated him as a foreign agent in March 2023.
