Hiba Abu Taha

Abu Taha is a Jordanian-Palestinian freelance investigative journalist and online commentator. In June 2023, the Amman Criminal Court sentenced her to three months in prison for defaming an official entity. She was detained in August and released on appeal the next day. In May 2024, she was re-arrested for her article about Jordan's alleged role in exporting goods to Israel. A month later, she was charged and sentenced under Jordan's cybercrime law to one year in prison. She was released on February 13, 2025, after completing her sentence.
