Tamimi, a Palestinian activist, is author of They Called Me a Lioness. In November 2023, she was arrested in the West Bank for incitement based on an Instagram post (she denied writing it, alleging her account had been hacked). After being detained in Israeli custody for 3 weeks, she was released during a ceasefire on November 30, but faced threats against speaking out with the well-being of her detained father.
