Al-Hor, creator and editor of a news website that is often critical of the Moroccan government, was arrested in 2017 and sentenced to four years in prison in 2018 for defamation and condoning terrorism. His arrest is thought to have stemmed from his coverage of anti-corruption activism. Al-Hor was released in August 2021, following the completion of his four-year sentence.
