Solomon Collins Nkulinga headshot

Solomon Collins is the Program Assistant for the Disability Rights Fund and the Disability Rights Advocacy Fund. He currently supports the Program Officer for Uganda, as well as Uganda operations, and works closely with the program team.

Solomon is an experienced program coordinator, and most recently worked with the National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) as a Program Assistant and the National Coordinator for the “Refugees with Disabilities” project, where he served as a trainer, prepared a range of project-related documentation, designed and developed human-rights campaigns and provided personal assistance to visually impaired clients, including the Head of Programmes. At NUDIPU he also supervised activities of the Peace Building and Inclusion for All project in the Rwenozri region, which emphasized the participation and inclusion of PWDs in all peace building initiatives in the region. Solomon was part of the drafting team of the first alternative report on the status of PWDs in Uganda that was shared with UNCRPD Committee in Geneva in 2016. He previously worked with the Uganda Foundation for the Blind as an administrator and a part-time trainer at the Uganda National Association of the Blind Hi-tech project, ensuring that the general public appreciated the potentials of visually impaired persons by learning computer skills alongside them at the trainings. Solomon is a member of the Citizens Coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda and is a member of the Uganda Foundation for the Blind.

Solomon recently completed the Human Rights Advocacy Program at Columbia University, has completed trainings at UN programs in Turin, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Adult and Community Education and a Diploma in Education, both from Kyambogo University-Kampala, Uganda.
