Daniel Kehlmann was born in Munich.

He is the author of Measuring the World and, most recently, Fame. Among his accolades are the Candide Prize, the Literature Prize of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the Thomas Mann Prize.

Kehlmann divides his time between Vienna and Berlin.
