RICK BAROT was born in the Philippines and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has published two previous poetry collections: The Darker Fall (2002), and Want (2008), winner of the 2009 Grub Street Book Prize and finalist for the Lambda Literary Award. He lives in Tacoma, Washington, and is an associate professor of English at Pacific Lutheran University.
