Rafael Spregelburd is a dramatist, director, and translator, and is one of the most important representatives of contemporary Argentine theater. He studied art, acting, and dramaturgy at the University of Buenos Aires with directors Ricardo Bartis and Mauricio Kartun. Rafael is one of the most influential playwrights of the post-military dictatorship generation, having amassed over fifty awards for his writing in Argentina and internationally. His plays are currently being produced to great success in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, and France. He has adapted and translated works by Harold Pinter, Steven Berkoff, Mark Ravenhill, Martin Crimp, Wallace Shawn, and Sarah Kane.
