Katrina Sommer graduated from UCLA with a degree in History and Global Studies in 2023 and now is pursuing a Master’s in Cybersecurity Policy and Governance at Boston College. During her undergraduate program, she wrote an Honors thesis on the postcolonial study of corruption in Africa and the influence of information on governance and transparency. Now, her focus is on protecting personal privacy, fighting disinformation, increasing government transparency, and embedding cybersecurity within the digital environment. In her free time, Katrina enjoys reading the Economist, trying new coffee shops, training for the LA Marathon, and swimming.
