Jonathan Rosenbloom

Twice a finalist in the PEN Prison Writing fiction contest, Jonathan C. Rosenbloom is a chef and restaurateur who has owned and operated restaurants and Foodservice establishments in New York City, Venice, Italy, and New Delhi, India. In 1992, he founded Il Grifo, Inc. which produced award-winning artisanal ice cream under the trade name, Rosenbloom’s Authentic Italian Gelato.

Mr. Rosenbloom has worked as an independent consultant for Foodservice clients in the United States, India, and Western Europe. An AIS Certified Sommelier, his weekly wine column, Celler Dweller, appeared in the Portland Press Herald’s ‘Maine Today’ section from 2005 to 2006. Prior to his incarceration, he was employed in the dual capacity of Executive Chef and Culinary Specialist for the Business Development team at Sysco, a foodservice company.

In addition to his writing, Mr. Rosenbloom has worked as a tutor in the school department and chef in the prison Commissary for the past two and a half years.
