Jeanne Bossier

Jeanne Anne-Marie Bossier is an incarcerated transgender woman. Her writing focuses on LGBTQA+ issues and experiences in a variety of genres. She is the recipient of a 2024 PEN America L’Engle Rahman Prize for Mentorship. She has also won PEN Prison Writing Awards in the essay and drama categories. Her short story, “Your Name is Mudd,” was published in the commemorative anthology, 2025 Kentucky Visions Short Story Contest Finalists: Bluegrass Writers Coalition. She is an accomplished playwright, with plays produced by Theater Lab in association with Voices Inside and performed in Lexington, Kentucky and New York City. In 2025, her play, Final Treatment, was adapted into a short film by Leff NuRing Productions.
