Dr. Iván F. Pacheco is a Magna Charta Ambassador and Research Fellow at the Center for International Higher Education at Boston College (USA). With more than 20 years of international experience in higher education, he is a recognized expert in policy development, program evaluation, and quality assurance. Dr. Pacheco played a key role in establishing Colombia’s higher education quality assurance system, which continues to shape the sector today. He has served as a consultant for the World Bank on various education projects across Latin America, including Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Peru. Additionally, he held the position of Director of Quality Assurance for Higher Education at Colombia’s Ministry of National Education.
Dr. Pacheco is the founder and president of Qualipliance, a consultancy focused on enhancing quality assurance and compliance processes for higher education institutions. He is also the founding editor of Educación Superior en América Latina (ESAL), a biannual journal addressing higher education issues in Latin America.
Dr. Pacheco holds a PhD in Higher Education from Boston College, a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Boston College, a master’s in Sociology of Law from the International Institute for the Sociology of Law (Spain), and a law degree from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
