[WEBINAR] Media Literacy in the Disinformation Age – Denver Public Library

PEN America and the Denver Public Library invite you to attend a two-part, live and interactive media literacy training on Tuesday, August 11 and August 18 at 4pm MT.

During these two 60-minute trainings, participants will learn how to better identify manipulated content—about the pandemic, protests, and in the context of the upcoming 2020 election—and will leave equipped with PEN America’s Media Literacy Toolkit to promote healthier digital practices. The facilitators, Nora Benavidez, director of PEN America’s U.S. Free Expression Programs, and Robin Filipczak and Ross Mays of the Denver Public Library, have baked in timely and contextualized examples to make sense of misinformation in your communities and will build on our conversations about local news and information ecosystems from our August 4 panel discussions with local journalists.

These trainings are free and open to the public, and are designed to equip voters with the tools to identify misleading content and to help prevent the spread of misinformation.
