Join us for a special conversation with Julie Taymor, renowned theater and film director and writer, to discuss her new film, The Glorias.

Whether directing for the stage or screen, Julie Taymor has consistently defied cultural expectations and tested technological limits, reinventing storytelling in the process. She is perhaps best known for her 1997 Broadway hit The Lion King, which earned her Tony Awards for Direction and Costume Design. We’re thrilled to have her join us to discuss The Glorias, her new film chronicling the influential journey to prominence of Gloria Steinem—legendary journalist, fighter, and feminist icon, who is known for her world-shaping activism, her guidance of the revolutionary women’s movement, and her writing that has impacted generations. Against the backdrop of a lonely bus on an open highway, the film follows Gloria’s journey—from her time in India as a young woman, to the founding of Ms. Magazine in New York, to her role in the rise of the women’s rights movement in the 1960s, to the historic 1977 National Women’s Conference, and beyond.
