PEN America: Author’s Evening With James Kirchick

James Kirchick headshot and Secret City book cover

Join us for an intimate dinner with author, journalist and foreign correspondent, James Kirchick, who will be discussing his new book, Secret City: The Hidden History of Gay Washington. Secret City is a “remarkable, hugely impressive accomplishment — exhaustively researched, skillfully told, erudite, heartfelt — that speaks not only to the impact of double lives on our nation’s life but also to the individual toll of veiling your soul. It makes me sad. But more than that, it makes me grateful, for all that has changed since those days of lies and whispers.” (Frank Bruni, The New York Times). This evening is being generously hosted by Daniel Shuchman and Lori Lesser

Tickets are $350 to attend this evening. The donation is considered 100% tax-deductible and supports PEN America’s mission to defend writers and free expression at a time of unprecedented need. Your generosity is deeply appreciated. Following your RSVP, you will be sent the address for the dinner.
