PEN America: Author’s Evening With James Kirchick
Join us for an intimate dinner with author, journalist and foreign correspondent, James Kirchick, who will be discussing his new book, Secret City: The Hidden History of Gay Washington. Secret City is a “remarkable, hugely impressive accomplishment — exhaustively researched, skillfully told, erudite, heartfelt — that speaks not only to the impact of double lives on our nation’s life but also to the individual toll of veiling your soul. It makes me sad. But more than that, it makes me grateful, for all that has changed since those days of lies and whispers.” (Frank Bruni, The New York Times). This evening is being generously hosted by Daniel Shuchman and Lori Lesser.
