Death in Spring and The Time of the Doves: Mercè Rodoreda

Mercè Rodoreda is the major Catalan novelist of the 20th century, and Death in Spring is one of her most complex and beautifully constructed works written in stunningly poetic prose over a period of twenty years in exile following the Spanish Civil War. Her most famous novel, The Time of the Doves, has been translated into 33 languages. The event will feature a reading by Jessica Lange, directed by Joan Ollé. Before the reading, Martha Tennent and Chad Post will present Death in Spring—Mercè Rodoreda’s latest novel by  to be translated into English.
