Participants

Gisela Pérez de Acha reports on extremism, disinformation, and environmental issues for UC Berkeley’s Investigative Reporting Program. She is a human rights lawyer and an open-source researcher at the Human Rights Center Investigations Lab, a cybersecurity expert, and a digital safety trainer with PEN America. Gisela has a master’s degree from Berkeley Journalism, where she now teaches a class she helped create on cybersecurity and open-source investigations. She is a team Polk Award recipient for her work in Frontline’s film American Insurrection and was part of an Emmy award-winning team at the New York Times for a story about The Siege of Culiacán.

 

Natalie Cone (she/her) is a Washington, DC – based Training and Facilitation Specialist with Right to Be. Her approach to training and facilitation is rooted in 10 years of experience holding space for organizations committed to racial, reproductive, and electoral justice. With a background in community engagement and strategic partnerships, her work is focused on creating safe spaces for communities to connect and collaborate. In her free time, she enjoys reading historical fiction and teaching yoga and meditation.
