Elisabeth Jaquette is a translator from the Arabic. She holds an MA from Columbia University, a BA from Swarthmore College, and was a CASA Fellow at the American University of Cairo. Her work has been published in The Guardian, Words Without Borders, and Asymptote Journal, among other places. She is also the Arabic reading group chair for UK publisher And Other Stories.
Her translation of The Queue by Basma Abdel Aziz received a 2014 English PEN Translates Award and is forthcoming with Melville House in 2016. She was a finalist for the 2015 ALTA fellowship and is a judge for the 2016 PEN Translation Prize.
