Bridgett Davis

Bridgett M. Davis’ forthcoming novel, Into The Go-Slow, will be published Fall 2014, by Feminist Press.

Ms. Davis’ debut novel Shifting Through Neutral, (Amistad, 2004) was a finalist for the 2005 Zora Neale Hurston/Richard Wright LEGACY Award.
She is the Books Editor for Bold As Love Magazine, an online black-culture site, as well as the curator for the popular monthly Brooklyn reading series, Sundays @ The Sackett. Ms. Davis’ work has appeared in the Washington Post, Essence, O, The Oprah Magazine, and TheRoot.com, among other publications. She teaches at Baruch College, CUNY, where she is the Director of the Sidney Harman Writer-in-Residence Program.

Cars flew by. The boy and the man both waved. The man cupped his hands to his mouth and yelled something that got lost to the wind. Cars passed and the boy and man disappeared, reappeared. The man gestured for them to come, come. Cars flew by.
