On September 19, 2020, Pomidoroff was detained after playing at a neighbors’ gathering in Minsk and was sentenced to eight days of administrative arrest. In November 2020, after being released, he quit the state owned radio station ROCKS in fear that it was endangering him and his family. Due to the political pressures, Pomidoroff has been unable to find artistic work in Belarus and left the country in exile.
