On September 5, 2020 Zakharevich was detained while taking photos at a rally and convicted to seven days of administrative arrest. On November 5, 2020 she was detained again on the site of the march of people with disabilities, convicted to 15 days of administrative arrest. Soon after her release, Zakharevich had to seek political asylum in Latvia because of the persecution.
