Join us for an intimate evening with author, film producer and scholar Jonathan Taplin discussing his latest book, The End of Reality. This evening in Los Angeles will be generously hosted by Dana and Paul Kiesel, Lybess Sweezy and Ken Miller, Keri and Marvin Putnam, and Seth Schachner.

Jonathan’s new work provides an insightful and important critique of the myths that four uniquely-influential tech and finance giants have sold to the twenty-first century consumer. A work of masterful insight, it’s a must read for “anyone interested in where culture is headed, and how democracy can survive” (James Fallows, national correspondent, Atlantic).

Joining Jonathan in conversation will be Jarl Mohn, former CEO and current President Emeritus of NPR. Mohn has an expansive media career under his belt, from his work on MTV and VH1 to almost 20 years in radio to his investment work in cable networks, the Internet, and online businesses. Ever innovative and on the cutting-edge of the digital landscape and audience trends, Mohn helped to grow the NPR reach to 26 million people who listened to the programming every week.

There is no cost to attend this event, but guests will be encouraged to support PEN America’s work to defend free expression and celebrate the power of the written word by making a donation to PEN America Los Angeles following the program.
