Touraj Amini

Historian, researcher, and literary writer Touraj Amini was tried for “spreading propaganda against the state” and given a reduced sentence of six months in prison. While he was detained, his home was searched and his personal belongings seized, and his wife, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, was left without a caretaker. On July 28, 2021 he was released after serving his sentence.
