Shahabuddin Shirazi

Shirazi is a dissident cleric who is active on Telegram. In March 2023, he was reportedly taken to court for his writings on Ayatollah Khomeini. In November 2023, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison for “publishing falsehoods” and “propaganda.” The charges stemmed from his critical religious commentary and political analysis shared via his Telegram channel. He was detained to serve his sentence in September 2025.
