Rashnu, a poet and writer online, was arrested for two months in June 2022 for defying hijab laws. In June 2023, she was charged with offenses including “propaganda.” In October, she was fined and handed a 6-month sentence for “propaganda” and “corruption.” In December 2023, she was sentenced to 4 months in jail for “publishing obscene images.” She announced that she would be summoned to prison for 3 years and 7 months in January 2025, but her sentence has been repeatedly postponed.
