Sasha Skochilenko, an artist and writer from St. Petersburg, was arrested on March 31, 2022, after she replaced five shelf tags in a grocery store with anti-war stickers. She was charged with knowingly distributing false information about the Russian military and placed in pretrial detention. After 20 months of pretrial detention, on November 16, 2023, Skochilenko was convicted and sentenced to 7 years in prison. She was released as part of a broader prisoner swap on August 1, 2024.
