Sakineh Asoudi

Asoudi is a blind poet and activist who has a history of intimidation by authorities due to her political poems. In 2021, she was threatened by security agents for supporting the “No to Vote” campaign. In January 2025, she was summoned to the prosecutor’s office and arrested for “disturbing public opinion” due to content she had posted on social media. She resides in Eslamshahr and has been outspoken about civil rights despite ongoing harassment. Her case is being processed by the city’s Prosecutor’s Office, and she remains in detention.
