Rozita Rajayi

Rozita Rajayi is a novelist and activist. She was arrested with a group of other women’s rights activists in November 2023 and released a week later on bail. In August 2024 she was sentenced to 4 years and a month in prison for “assembly and collusion” and “propaganda.” She remained outside prison. In July 2025, she was again arrested after being summoned and interrogated. She was transferred to Lakan Prison. She was charged with "disclosing details of preliminary investigations” “spreading lies”, “propaganda,” and “appearing in public without hijab.” Her family offered to provide bail, but authorities refused to release her. She was sentenced to a year in prison for “propaganda” in August.
