Morteza Saliman

Morteza Saliman, a poet, online commentator, and creative artist, was arrested on January 17, 2025, in Isfahan and charged with offenses including “insulting the Supreme Leader” and “conspiracy against national security” in connection with his poetry. He suffered a heart attack during interrogation and reported severe mistreatment. He remained in prison until being temporarily released on bail in July 2025 due to failing health, and by August 2025 had fled to Turkey.
