Masoud Yousef Hasirchin, a translator and online commentator, was detained on January 18, 2026, after being summoned, following a home raid on January 16 in which his books and electronic devices were confiscated. Concerns about his health and well-being were later reported on February 11, 2026. He has translated more than 30 books, including works on Tiananmen Square, and runs a Telegram channel critical of economic policies and the Chinese Communist Party.
