Magdi Ahmed Hussein Gad

Hussein, who has authored pieces that comparatively examine Islam and Western values, was given a reduced five-year sentence in 2016 for his “contempt of Islam,” alleged distortion of the Quran, and attacks on national unity through his writing. He served as executive manager of Alshaab Newspaper and general manager of the Labor Party during his career. On April 19, 2021, he was released after serving his full sentence.
