Palestinian astrophysicist and professor Barghouthi was arrested on June 16, 2020, without explanation. On August 2, he was charged with “incitement and support for a hostile organization.” Bargouthi was released on June 1, 2021, but was re-arrested on October 23, 2023. On November 1, he was sentenced to six months in administrative detention without charge. Barghouti was released on April 22, 2024.
