Hossam Shabat was a Palestinian journalist and online commentator based in northern Gaza who was killed on March 24, 2025 in an Israeli drone strike near the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia. According to CPJ and eyewitness accounts, he was targeted while traveling for reporting work after interviewing a civilian. He was known for documenting the war in Gaza through broadcast media and social platforms, where he reported on civilian conditions and ongoing attacks.
