Georgia Fort is a journalist based in St. Paul, Minnesota. She runs a platform called BLCK Press, which is focused on community journalism, social justice reporting, and amplifying Black voices and storytelling through television, radio, and editorial narrative and commentary. On January 30, 2026, Fort was arrested at her home, in front of her three children, after she livestreamed and reported on an anti-ICE protest. The protest, which had occurred following the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by ICE officers in Minneapolis, disrupted a service at St. Paul's Cities Church, where one of the church's pastors also works as an ICE official. Fort live-streamed her arrest, during which nearly two dozen federal agents surrounded her house. She, along with journalist Don Lemon, was charged with violating religious freedom and "interference with religious observance," and has pled not guilty to all charges. Fort has spoken out about the arrest as a violation of her First Amendment rights.
