Fouad Abdelmoumni

Fouad Abdelmoumni is a Moroccan activist and online commentator who was briefly detained in October 2024 over a Facebook post criticizing Morocco’s political and diplomatic positions. In March 2025, he was convicted in absentia by the Ain Sebaa Criminal Court and sentenced to six months in prison and a fine for defamation and spreading false allegations. The case is linked to his public criticism of state institutions and allegations regarding surveillance practices. He was not in custody at sentencing due to medical treatment abroad.
