Fessehaye Yohannes

Co-founder of the newspaper Setit, prominent Eritrean journalist, poet, and playwright, Yohannes was arrested in a sweeping crackdown on print media following the September 11 attacks. He has been detained incommunicado since, drawing grave concern over his health. While some reports suggest he died in detention in 2002, others indicate he passed away in 2007. His exact date of death remains uncertain.
