Galindo Peña was detained on April 15, 2020 in a warrantless home raid by the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command and brought to court 96 hours later for writing on his website Senderos de Apure. Galindo Peña’s relatives were also detained after refusing to give the writer’s computer to authorities. Galindo Peña was conditionally released on May 4, and he must report to a police station every 15 days.
