Ebrahim Rashidi

Ebrahim Rashidi, an Iranian journalist, activist, and online commentator of Azeri ethnicity, has a long history of arrests related to activism and journalism. He was arrested in December 2023 and released in February 2024 after nearly two months in detention. In August 2025, he was sentenced and fined 25 million tomans for “propaganda” and “spreading lies,” in lieu of a three-month prison term. His case includes repeated earlier arrests dating back to 2003 and ongoing charges related to his cultural and minority rights activism.
