Deng Liting

Deng Liting is a Chinese writer, essayist, and poet who writes under the name Mo Lu online. Among her work includes a novel titled The Lost World, which alongside her other writing, has been taken down from the Chinese internet. In June 2025, she posted a video and poem supporting the Tiananmen Square protests to her WeChat, Weibo, and Douyin, after which her accounts were banned, she and her son were detained and interrogated by Chongqing police, and her and her family continued to be surveilled. Following several asylum attempts, she announced on X that she and her family had successfully applied for political asylum in Germany in February 2025.
