Daphne Caruana Galizia

Caruana Galizia was murdered in 2017, months after writing about corrupt government practices. Despite state obstruction of the investigation, several politicians and business elites have been linked to the crime. Following a nearly two-year public inquiry, an independent board concluded that the state created an “atmosphere of impunity” and “should shoulder responsibility for the assassination.”
