Badr Mohamad Badr

Badr Mohamad Badr is an Egyptian journalist and online commentator who was arrested in March 2017 on terrorism-related charges linked to his journalistic work. Since then, he has remained in prolonged pretrial detention across multiple cases, with earlier release orders overturned or not implemented. As of early 2026 updates, he has spent over seven years in detention, most recently reported as still held in Tora Prison. He suffers from health issues, including diabetes, and continues to be detained without a final verdict.
