Ashkan Fahim

Ashkan Fahim is a Kurdish poet, author, and cultural activist. He was arrested on September 15, 2023 on unknown charges. As of October 18, 2023, when Fahim was transferred to Urmia prison, he was denied legal representation. Three months later, on December 23, 2023, he was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison and 100 days in exile in Arak for “collusion” and “propaganda against the regime.” Despite his declining medical condition, he is not permitted temporary release and is denied access to medication.
