Arslan Abdulla

Poet and professor of Uyghur literature and philology Arslan Abdulla was detained in September 2018 alongside other Uyghur scholars. He served as dean of Xinjiang University’s School of Humanities and is a prominent figure in Uyghur literature, known for editing major literary corpora and publishing works such as Youth Star and The Story of the Stars. According to a former colleague at Xinjiang University, Abdulla is being held in a re-education camp, although his exact whereabouts remain unknown.
