Flores Salazar, a journalist covering crime for El Sol de Orizaba, was abducted by armed men in 2018 and found dead along a highway in Veracruz state. Authorities linked her murder to a member of a drug cartel who was already in custody. Two other suspects were arrested in connection with the crime.
